Tsjaz in Minneapolis (consumer of popular culture) tries to be of service to others, posting with reasonable regularity, although to be honest, he'd prefer laying on the couch and sleeping to describing the excruciating minutiae of his life to you.

Jessica Alba #1
Oh, nice that THAT headline was up at the top of this site all week.
Randomness from the week: Baseball and softball eliminated from the Olympics and I just read three articles that point to team handball as a "dubious" sport. I don't think these guys know what it is, but it is the second most popular team sport in the world. I would say that makes it legitimate Olympic material. Don't put it in the same category as modern pentathalon, rhythmic gymnastics, and synchronized swimming just because the USA never medals in it.
Two Fridays ago, I was leaving school late at night, here in the suburban industrial office park in Edina and I saw an honest-to-God fox in the middle of the road. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild before. I was listening to Sleater-Kinney's The Woods at the time and it would be a much better story if I had actually been listening to the song "The Fox," so let's say I was. What a coincidence!
Summer school is over, and now I have to prepare for my conference presentation on Friday. There were nine days of summer school, and seven of them were unpleasant due to kids reacting against their being forced to take my class, but not apparently forced to pass it. We made buckyballs on one of the good days.
I went to a wedding today, but I was working with Mike, so I didn't know the people getting married, much less the hirsute bearded young man with electric blue hair in a pink dress. I was there so that Mike didn't have to go to the reception, and we went to Fantastic Four instead. The movie was all right. It's slow to start because they have to show the origins, so it could have been better, but the climactic fight was really good. Then the screen read "The End," after which they showed a little coda. "The End" means the end. Don't put story material after "The End."
Thursday night involved an after hours visit to the Riverside Clubhouse on East Lake, a potential location for a business. Tonight is dude night.
I need to move on right now.
